Еклезіальне становище греко–католиків до встановлення комуністичних режимів у країнах Центрально–Східної Європи

Abstract

Ecclesial state of Greek-Catholics before the establishment of communist regimes in the countries of Central-Eastern Europe is investigated in the article. The author proves that Greek-Catholisizm in the given case forward as one of the main factors that determined ethnic identity and ecclesial identity of Rusyn-Ukrainian minorities of these countries as well as the aparted existence of title nations among the other confessions. At the same time for “ethnic eclesiocide” or “ecclesial ethnocide’ stood serious national projects that together with general anticommunist and further anti-Soviet fervour of Greek-Catholics directly threatened with territorial unity of the countries of this region, including the USSR.
