Abstract

The considerable forest resources of Guzulshyna induced development of processing of wood and the first enterprises of this industry became sawmills. The oldest information reached to XVIII century. The most important its activity was the second half of XIX and the first third of XX centuries. The article reveals general materials about the sawmills of Eastern Galychyna at the end of XVIII-XIX centuries, and more concrete, reliable statistical materials - about northern part of Guzulshyna, where this industry purchased wide development. The questions of the state of the forests, its usage and security, technological processing of the forest, employment of population, production and realization of products are introduced.
