Відносини чеських Пршемисловичів із німецьким Цісарем Генріхом VI (1190–1197)

Abstract

The article analyses the relations of the Czech rulers Konrad II Ota, Přemysl I, Jindřich Břetyslav with the German emperor Henry VI. Those relations were mostly of vassal character due to such factors as the dynasty crisis in the Czech state on the one hand, and the direct interference of Henry VI with the inheritance of the Czech throne on the other hand. Of all the above Czech rulers, Konrad II Ota and Jindřich Břetyslav implemented Henry’s various foreign policy plans most willingly. Přemysl I, on the contrary, was trying to return the the priviledged status of the Czech state within the Holy Roman Empire and to this end joined the anti-caesar coalition. Eventually, he was defeated.
