Abstract: The energy structure of phosphorus and sulfur atoms was calculated using the R-matrix method with B-splines (BSR method). This method provides a fairly complete account of the effects of valence and cor-valence electron correlation. Using the multiconfiguration Hartree-Fock method (MCHF), multiconfiguration calculations of the properties of the electronic structure of sulfur and phosphorus atoms were performed, which will later be used in the study of electron scattering processes on P and S atoms.
