Політика президентів США стосовно етнічних груп (на прикладі української громади)

Abstract

The analysis of theoretical conceptions and practical measures undertaken by the USA presidents demonstrates that the ethnic-political position as to the groups of immigrant origin was in direct dependence upon the existing strategy of the relations with the mother country of migrators. The attitude to American Ukrainians during XX cent, was defined mainly by the principles, declared by the president Vudro Wilson in famous “14 clauses”, federalist conceptions of the development of the territory of the former Russian Empire. After the Second World War high officials of the USA considered the Ukrainian problems, particularly, the demands of the Ukrainian community through the prism of internal processes in the Soviet Union.
