Оптаційні процеси між Чехословаччиною і СРСР у перші післявоєнні роки

Abstract

The problem of optation - voluntary choice of the USSR citizenship by Ukrainians from Czechoslovakia and the citizenship of CSR by Czechs, Slovaks and representatives of other nationalities from the Soviet Union and the process of mutual exchange of the population in 1945-1947 is considered. The first stage of the optation process - after the association of Transcarpathia with Ukraine (1945-1946) - and the second: the so-called “Volynsk share” (1946-1947) have been analised. New archival documents, in particular correspondence between B. Molotov and Z. Firlinger concerning optation and Transcarpathia are published. The problems of reoptatnts - Ukrainians, which came back to Slovakia in 60-90-years are stressed to remain unsettled.
