Abstract:	The author of the article refines the evaluation of the activity of E. Egan in Transcarpathia. On the one hand, being true officer of Hungarian government of that time, he supported its policy of madyarization of the Ukrainian population of the region. On the other hand - as the person honest, with inherent feeling of social justice, E.Egan by soul and heart has undertaken the business, entrusted him, and did his best to help poor Rusinian population of the region in economic aspect.
