Abstract

The correlation between the history and politics - methodological problem of historical science that is of interest for the scientists of today. Leopold von Ranke (1793-1886), the great German historian of the XIX cent. Proposed to write history “as it really was”, looking for the ways of its realistic expression. In the article political context of the Rankean’s objectiveness is revealed, the evolution of his political ideas is shown: they were of conservative, conformist character and were formed in conditions of the “matternich system" under the influence of the ideas of legitimism. That’s why Ranke did not become the follower of the Bismark’s policy of the union of Germany by “iron and blood” fnd tried to keep the distance between political situation of his days and conclusions of his scientific works.
