Кредитна діяльність представників amplissimi ordines в епоху пізньої республіки в Римі (кінець ІІІ-І ст. до н.е.)

Abstract

The paper analyses the two high societies (amplissimi ordines) of ancient Roman society in the epoch of late repubic: senators (ordo senatorius) and equites (ordo equester). The main entrepreneurial activities orienta­tions are determined: trade, ransoms and credit - usurious operations. lt is proved that the last in the late epoch were more profitaЫe source of enrichment of the privileged classes. The statement is proved in the paper that senators and equites were representatives of the one ruling society, the basic economic prosperity of which was the land and the entrepreneurship.
