Abstract

The subject of study in the novel “Blakytny roman” by Hnat Mykhaylychenko is the nature of the symbolic figure. The author of the article guiding by the principles of the psychoanalysis of Z. Freud and the theory of personality of K. G. Yung traced the development of the character and functions assumed by the symbolic figure. The characters in the novel “Blakytny roman” by Hnat Mykhaylychenko are interpreted as the symbols of the various sides of a human personality aspiring for absolute harmony.
