| Abstract: | The Ukrainian equivalents of pre-slavonic names of garden plants *česnikъ/*česnъкъ, *lukъ, *makъ, *xrěnъ, *rěpa, *gorьčica, *sočevica/*sočivica, *lęča, *gorxъ, *mъrky, *kropъ/*koprъ, *čębrъ/*čubrъ, *dyn’а, *tyky have been under consideration. The investigation was carried out on the material being taken from thee written documents and dialects of the Ukrainian language. To reveal the etymology of these names the facts of the Slavonic and Indo-European languages have been widely used. |
