Abstract:	The article reviews the formation and developement the institute of the local self–goverment, which functioned in Subcarpathian Rus during the first years of existance the Czechoslovak Republic (1919-1921). It also looks through the activities of the central bodies of state power in the organization local authorities in Subcarpathian Rus according to the General Statut and the Constitution of 1920. The author analyzed the causes why the issue on autonomization the political life in the region respectively to international legal obligations has become so difficult for the Czechoslovak authorities.
