Abstract:	Author is defining and characterizing the main periods in the development of the mutual relations between Slovakia and EU. As the main factors that influenced in a negative way the integration processes are called instability of the state institutions, the absence of the developed party system, the presence of the economic crisis and the strict conflicts in the internal policy of the country. Also the article deals with the positive and negative consequences of eurointegration for Slovakia.
