Abstract:	Author of the article illustrates the democratization processes in Ukraine on the base of the fundamental prin-ciples developed by the S. Hantington in the “Third Wave of Democratization”. He makes the conclusion that the process of the liberal democracy development is difficult and contradictional and includes the following stages: the decline of the authoritative system; the emergence of the democratic system; consolidation of democ-racy.
