Abstract:	The article is dedicated the problem of main spiritual preconditions which where needed for successful transformation in Czech Republic. The author gives an opinion that there are 6 main preconditions: the existence of national intelligentsia and non-lost generation, the context of Czech citizenship culture, the historic role of writers which is immanent for the whole Central Europe and the memory and myth of 1968.
