Роль транскордонного співробітництва Західних регіонів у процесі європейської інтеграції України

Abstract

Cross-border cooperation of the local and regional communities can be treated as the instrument of the European continent integration, especially it is efficient in the process of the Ukraine and European Union adjustment. Legal mechanisms of EU, Council of Europe and Ukraine that define the cross-border cooperation framework as well as the Brussels technical assistance create the possibility for the local governments and communities cooperation on the territory divided by European Union borders. Author also stresses on the most efficient forms of the cross-border cooperation that are evident on the Western borders of Ukraine, defines obstacles for the further development of the process, makes conclusions about the influence of EU enlargement on the traditional forms of cooperation.
