Abstract

А short literary review is given about curative and possible negative effects of bor and boric mineral waters. Level of borates in blood and urine has been detennined in а group of patients with duodenal ulcer after а course of boric hydrocarbonate sodium mineral water intake (530 mg/1 of H3BO3)/ It was not revealed difference in the concentration of borates in biological liquids before and after the course of treatment, but due to diuretic effect of mineral water the total amount ofborates excreted with urine is significantly higher at the end of treatment. Thus preliminary data showed that bor in mineral waters of given type does not cumulate in the organism and has no obvious negative effects.
