Abstract

Klyuchkovych T. The Higher Education Internationalization Strategy in the Slovak Republic has been outlined. The target and structural features of the higher education internationalization strategy in the Slovak Republic have been highlighted. The main focus is on the state level of internationalization of higher education in Slovakia. An appropriate regulatory and conceptual framework has been created for the implementation of the internationalization strategy at the state level in Slovakia. The key documents that determine the higher education internationalization strategy in the Slovak Republic have been analyzed. The goals, activities and mechanism of implementation of «The Higher Education Internationalization Strategy 2030» have been revealed. The content components of the «Strategy» fully integrate the value, normative, organizational and resource aspects of the internationalization of Slovak higher education. This strategy aims at increasing the efficiency of activities and invested resources in the field of internationalization and maximizing their benefits for Slovak higher education and wider society by introducing a systematic and coordinated approach to internationalization based on common goals of the Ministry and universities. The national strategy for the development of education aims at increasing the quality of higher education through internationalization, increasing the availability of international experience during university studies and modernizing higher education in the context of internationalization. It is defined that implementation of internationalization strategy is one of the priority tasks for the national policy in the Slovak Republic. The main problems and challenges faced by Slovak higher education in the international context have been outlined. It is concluded that the internationalization of higher education has become an important area of purposeful state policy of the Slovak Republic at the present stage.
