| Abstract: | The authors have marked similarity in the structure and function of а middle ear and lateral wall of the nose. The basic role in self-cleaning is played bу narrow passages, covered with ciliated epithelium. 98 operations were performed in patients with cholesteatoma chronic otitis media. The organic block of the tympanic isthmus was observed in 85,7 % of them. Concluded, that among narrow passages of the middle ear, the tympanic isthmus block take place more frequently, and it plays significant role in development of primary cholesteatoma. |
