| Abstract: | The study was aimed to compare the effect of hypotensive therapy with ENAP-HL (enalapril and hydrochlorthyazide) and its combination with flamicar (extract of Sorlus omcuparia) on lipid profile, lipid peroxidation, antioxidant enzymes and acid resistance of erythrocytes in elderly hypertensives. lt was shown that both kinds of therapy improved blood lipid profile. Flamicar enhanced and modified the favorite influence of ENAP-HL on lipid peroxidation processes and exerted memranestabization action. These properties of flamicar gave reasons for its implication as remedy for basis metabolic therapy in geriatric cardiology. |
