Videoconference as a modern means for solving criminal proceedings problems

Abstract

Benefits and disadvantages, considering special interest to the modern form of criminal proceedings -videoconference have been analysed. According to the international experience the use of videoconference with the appropriate organizational, technical and human resources in the courts and detention centers, proper legal regulation of distance investigative actions and proceedings, can provide: significant reduction of criminal proceedings time; decreasing of financial expenses; witness personal safety; participation of persons who are unable to appear for conducting investigative (detective) actions or court proceeding etc.
