Abstract

Svalyava region of Transcarpathia is the unique locality with the concentration of hydrocarbonic natrium mineral wateк springs with the different level of mineralization and high concentration of ortoboracic acid and some microelements. The subject is first of all about the springs of Polyana-Kupel, Nova Polyana, Polyana-Medvezhzhe, Holubyne (Luzhanske), Pasitske, Ploskivske, Svalyavske and Nelipynske. The information which confirms the fact that mineral waters of Svalyava region were known beginning from the middle of XVth century and the study of their chemical composition began at 1803 is presented in given article on the basis of the study of rare literature of XIXth century written in Latin, German and old-Hungarian. The monographs, researchers (chemists), dates of publishing of the main facts about the mineral waters of the region in XIXth century are presented in given scientific paper.
