Abstract:	The aim of the present paper is to study gender aspect of the nouns denoting evil in Ukrainian and English with the help of the matrix method.To achieve the aim, the following objectives were set: 1) to describe the gender component in the semantic structure of the Ukrainian and English nouns denoting evil; 2) to classify the words under study on the basis of their common semantic indications.
Description:	In today’s globalised world, gender studies are becoming more relevant than ever. A new understanding of categorisation processes and introduction of new research theories have led to reconsidering the research principles as to the study of the category of “gender” that was previously interpreted as biologically determined and objectivized by the words “a man” and “a woman”.
