Abstract: Analysis of the influence of the political culture of citizens on regional and local political processes allows us to determine the level of development of civil society, and the stability of national democratic institutions, as well as make forecasts of the development of the political sphere. The Slovak-Ukrainian borderland, namely Košice self-governing Region, Prešov self-governing Region (the Slovak Republic), and Transcarpathian Region (Ukraine), and its population is an interesting sample for the analysis of political culture, which is determined on the one hand by common historical features, cultural ties, and long-standing cooperation, and on the other - opposite economic and social development.
