Title:	Специфіка прояву конфліктних дій у далекоспоріднених мовах

Description:	Стаття присвячена зіставному дослідженню мовних одиниць на позначення прояву конфліктних дій в сучасних англійській та українській мовах на основі методики формалізованого аналізу лексичної семантики на матеріалі суцільного аналізу лексикографічних джерел. У результаті виявлено спільні та відмінні характеристики семантики лексичних одиниць у далекоспоріднених мовах. Виділено чотири групи слів, що розкривають сутність конфліктних дій: 1) сперечатися, сваритися (гаряче або сердито сперечатися з кимось про щось, брати участь у словесній війні, а також боротися проти спокуси, вести духовну війну, боротися з хворобою, стражданням чи перешкодами); 2) зіткнення інтересів (розходитися в думках, не погоджуватися з кимось або чимось, заперечувати щось а також відрізнятися релігійними поглядами, вирізнятися за природою, формою та ін.); 3) втягнутися у військовий, збройний конфлікт з використанням зброї або без (брати участь у війні, вести війну, бойові дії, бій, воювати, битися, боротися, а також вираження боротьби природніх сил, емоцій, почуттів, переживань); 4) протестувати (виражати протест, заперечення проти кого-, чого-н., а також марно розтрачувати час та гроші на розгульне життя). Завдяки прояву конфліктних дій можемо розкрити особливості життя та діяльності англійського та українського етносу, їхнього зовнішнього і внутрішнього світу, рис характеру та моральних якостей, виявити погляди, манери та поведінку людей у конфліктних ситуаціях. The present article deals with the comparative analysis of the language units denoting conflict actions in modern English and Ukrainian on the material of lexicographical sources based on the procedure of the formalized lexical semantics’ analysis. As a result, both common and distinctive characteristics of the verbs’ semantics in distantly related languages have been revealed. Four word groups which reveal the essence of conflict actions have been singled out: 1) to argue, to quarrel (to dispute warmly, or angrily with somebody about something, to contend in verbal warfare and to fight against temptation or the like, to wage spiritual warfare, to struggle with disease, suffering or hindrances); 2) conflict of interest (to differ in opinion, to dissent with somebody or something, to object to smth. and to differ in religious opinion, in content, form, or other respect); 3) to get involved in a military, armed conflict with or without weapons (to engage in war, to give battle to, fight against, assail in battle, to combat and to express fight of natural forces, opinions, feelings, etc.); 4) to protest (to protest against somebody or something, to waste time and money in riotous living). Due to the conflict actions manifestation, we can reveal the peculiarities of the English and Ukrainian ethnos’ life and activity, their external and internal world, traits of character and their moral qualities, expose people’s views, manners and behavior in conflict situations. The notion of conflict is a large-scale and promising for linguistic investigations. Its further study can be carried out in many related fields. The results of our research can be used in lexico-semantic analysis of other groups of lexis, in the process of dictionary compiling, translation studies, dealing with issues on cross-language and cross-cultural communication.
