Створення та функціонування бібліотечної мережі на Переяславщині у другій половині ХІХ – на початку ХХ ст.

Abstract

У статті досліджується процес становлення і розвитку бібліотечної мережі Переяславщини у другій половині ХІХ – на початку ХХ ст. у контексті асиміляторської політики, яку проводили російські імперіалісти щодо українців. Методологічною основою роботи є системний підхід, принципи критичного та структурно-системного підходу до джерельної бази. Застосовано історико-порівняльний, хронологічний та конкретно-історичний методи у їх сукупності, а також спеціальні методи джерелознавчого аналізу документів і матеріалів. Простежено зв’язок між просуванням «русского мира» в Україні на початку ХХІ ст. та асиміляторською політикою, яку системно проводили російські імперіалісти щодо українців на зламі ХІХ – ХХ ст. Встановлено наявність бібліотечної мережі на Переяславщині. Висвітлено діяльність повітового й губернського земств у напрямку організації бібліотек на селі. Окреслено особливості функціонування бібліотек, комплектування книжкового фонду, динаміку основних бібліотечних показників. З’ясовано суспільну та просвітницьку роль мережі книгозбірень та її вплив на культурно-освітній простір Переяславщини в ХІХ – на початку ХХ ст. Розкрито особливості заснування мережі сільських народних бібліотек й отримано відомості про їх діяльність. Виявлено, що мережа сільських бібліотек Переяславського повіту була нечисленною, бібліотеки розподілялися по території повіту нерівномірно, книжкові фонди переважно були мізерні, однотипні за складом і тематикою, поповнювалися епізодично, комплектувалися здебільшого російськомовною літературою, обмежувалися каталогом дозволеної для використання в народних бібліотеках літератури. Доведено, що бібліотеки Переяславщини у другій половині ХІХ – на початку ХХ ст. прямо й опосередковано сприяли асиміляторській політиці, яку системно та цілеспрямовано проводили російські імперіалісти щодо українців з метою їх цілковитої асиміляції.

The article examines the process of formation and development of the library network of the Pereiaslav region in the second half of the 19th - at the beginning of the 20th century, in the context of the assimilatory policy pursued by the russian imperialists in relation to the Ukrainians. The methodological basis of the work is a systematic approach, based on the principles of a critical and structural-systemic approach to the source base. Historical-comparative, chronological, and concrete historical methods in their totality, as well as special methods of source analysis of documents and materials, are applied. The connection between the promotion of the "russian world" in Ukraine at the beginning of the 21st century, and the assimilatory policy systematically pursued by the russian imperialists in relation to the Ukrainians at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries is traced. The existence of a library network in the Pereiaslav region was identified. The activity of the district and provincial zemstvos in the direction of the organisation of libraries in the village is highlighted. The peculiarities of the functioning of libraries, the composition of the book collection, and the dynamics of the main library indicators are outlined. The social and educational role of the network of book collections and its impact on the cultural and educational space of the Pereiaslav region in the 19th and early 20th centuries have been clarified. The peculiarities of the establishment of a network of rural public libraries were revealed, and information about their activities was obtained. It was found that the network of rural libraries in Pereiaslav District was small, the libraries were unevenly distributed across the territory of the district, the book collections were mostly meager, uniform in composition and subject matter, replenished sporadically, filled mostly with Russian-language literature, limited to the catalogue of literature approved for use in public libraries. It is proved that the libraries of the Pereiaslav region in the second half of the 19th - at the beginning of the 20th century directly and indirectly contributed to the assimilation policy systematically and purposefully carried out by the russian imperialists in relation to the Ukrainians with the aim of their complete assimilation.
