| Description: | The article considers the problem of formation of the moral consciousness of personality in contemporary Ukrainian society. The meaning of moral education in the formation of ethical norms and principles of personality has been analysed. The focus has been made on the basic conditions of forming the moral convictions of a young person. The conclusions have been made on the versatility of the moral consciousness of an individual. Characterizing the structure of moral consciousness, it should be noted that the levels of formation distinguish between social and individual. These two levels are in a particular interaction. Individual consciousness is determined by public opinion, which is based on social life. The main components of individual moral conscience is the moral sense of duty, conscience - that together constitute the emotional and sensual level.
