Архетип дому в романі "Незнання" Мілана Кундери

Abstract

Дана стаття окреслює проблему інтерпретації архетипу дому та міфу про Велике Повернення у романі Мілана Кундери «Незнання». Дослідження базується на вивченні особливостей художнього втілення архетипу дому як одного з ключових архетипів у формуванні людського світогляду та системі цінностей. На самому початку ХХІ століття у 2000 році у Франції світ побачив роман Мілана Кундери «Незнання» (мовою оригіналу «L'Ignorance»), котрий з поміж іншого торкнувся проблеми еміграції та репатріації, а на глибшому рівні – запелював до проблеми сприйняття «дому», одного із трьох базових національних архетипів. Окрім захоплюючого сюжету, твір відзначається автобіографічністю переживань, і на прикладі художніх персонажів дозволяє простежити еволюцію особистісного сприйняття архетипу дому письменником. На підсвідомому рівні Мілан Кундера прагне розвінчання давніх стереотипів, котрі виникають у людини щоразу, коли вона чує такі поняття, як «дім», «батьківщина», «патріотизм», «еміграція», «повернення» та ін. Звісно у романі немає прямого заклику до докорінного руйнування традиційного світогляду, але твір спонукає до певного переосмислення давніх цінностей. «Незнання» намагається висвітлити проблему зв’язку людини з місцем її народження, з країною, яку звикли називати батьківщиною. Автор доводить, що поняття батьківщина перейшло у категорію відносного і не обов’язково має бути пов’язаним із поняттям дому. Автор апелюєдо свободи вибору кожної людини, акцентуючи на тому, що деякі речі є для нас більш значущими у контексті швидкоплинності життя. Цей роман є своєрідним розвінчанням образу тріумфального Великого Повернення до «справжнього дому», адже останнього як загальної категорії, зрозумілої і сприйнятої усіма, не існує. Хоча конкретних висновків М. Кундера не робить, він розглядає поняття дому на рівнях загальному, особистому та інтимному, таким чином змушуючи читачів та критиків пильніше приглянутись до незаперечних істин.

The paper deals with the archetype of home and the myth of the Great Return in the novel «L'Ignorance» by Milan Kundera. The focus is on the study of peculiarities of the artistic interpretation of the archetype of home as an integral part of personal worldview and values. The novel of Milan Kundera touches upon the issues of forced emigration and repatriation, and this context appeals to the deeper understanding of “home” as one of the three basic national archetypes. The plot of the novel creates is complemented by autobiographical experiences of the author, and it provides an opportunity to trace the evolution of the personal perception of home by Milan Kundera. Subconsciously, the author aims at ruining the stereotypical understanding of the world around us while making readers reevaluate certain things, including the notions of “motherland”, “patriotism”, “emigration”, “return” etc. He tries to depict the traditional perception of homeland as home, and in this way he reinforces classical views on patriotism as a core value, while emigration is seen as a vile thing and repatriation is considered as a must. Yet, the characters of “L’Ignorance” ruin the suffering image of an emigrant as a person forcefully severed from their home. Thus, Milan Kundera introduces personal and intimate interpretations of home as a concept rather than a place. He explores different dimensions of the national archetype and tries to show the relativity of the categories of home and homeland while appealing to the right of a person to choose their own comfort and happiness. Two other possible interpretations of home are connected with people and emotions, feelings of love and tranquility, and they somehow disrupt traditional understanding of the word. Another important point of the novel is drawing attention to the myth of the Great Return. Milan Kundera interprets that in terms of time-sensitivity and brevity of a human life, thus arguing that the power of the archetype of home greatly correlates with the notion of mortality.
