Германські мови у глобалізаційних процесах XXI століття

Abstract

У статті визначено англійську мову як «lingua franca», адже у глобальному світі знання германських мов, зокрема англійської, дає високі шанси в бізнесі, кар’єрному зростанні, можливість спілкуватися з людьми в усьому світі, надає доступ до літератури в оригіналі, створює можливості для власного розвитку та реалізації свого потенціалу. Сьогодні процеси глобалізації впливають на найрізноманітніші сторони життя сучасного суспільства та зумовлюють визначення англійської мови як найціннішого надбання людини. Мета дослідження – визначити сутність англійської мови як глобальної, яка використовується для спілкування в усьому світі. Об’єктом дослідження є англійська мова як мова об’єднання людей із різним мовним походженням – як глобальна «lingua franca». Предметом дослідження є природа англійської мови як глобальної. Англійська мова як ніколи домінує в науці, економіці та на просторах Інтернету у ХХІ ст. Очевидно, що вона стала домінуючою завдяки націям, які стали наддержавами. Поняття «англійська мова як глобальна мова» відображає абсолютно нове явище у XXI ст. Характерною особливістю англійської мови як глобальної (lingua franca) є використання її як засобу міжкультурної та міжмовної комунікації. Вважаємо, що англійську мову як глобальну (lingua franca) можна розглядати як різновид англійської мови, однак певною мірою спрощеної. Однак такий варіант не означає, що це неправильна чи примітивна мова, адже люди можуть передавати свої думки за допомогою як найпростіших висловлювань, так і складних аргументів, правильно й ефективно використовувати мовні форми. Англійська мова спочатку, до моменту набуття глобального статусу, була однією з найпоширеніших міжнародних мов, у своєму статусі іноземної вона була тісно пов’язана з національними культурами англомовних націй. Проте зараз, коли англійська мова використовується для спілкування в усьому світі, з’являється нова глобальна культура, а цінності глобальної культури стають частиною ідентичності членів спільноти носіїв англійської мови як глобальної (lingua franca) разом із їхньою етнічною й національною ідентичністю. З початком глобалізаційних процесів англійська мова змінилася, і цей процес триває дотепер. Вона не співвідноситься із жодним національним різновидом англійської мови. Така англійська мова є культурно нейтральною. Перспективи подальших досліджень вбачаємо у вивченні проблеми варіативності англійської мови як lingua franca на різних мовних рівнях.

The article defines English as a “lingua franca”, because in the global world, knowledge of German languages, including English, gives high chances in business, career growth, the opportunity to communicate with people around the world, provides access to original literature, creates opportunities for their own development and realization of their potential. Today, the processes of globalization affect various aspects of modern society and determine the definition of English as the most valuable asset of humanity. The purpose of the study is to determine the essence of English as a global language used for communication around the world. The object of research is English as a language of unification of people of different linguistic origins – as a global “lingua franca”. The subject of the study is the nature of English as a global language. English language is more dominant than ever in science, economics and the Internet in the XXI century. It has become dominant due to the nations that have become superpowers. The concept of “English as a global language” reflects a completely new phenomenon in the XXI century. A characteristic feature of English as a global language (lingua franca) is its use as a means of intercultural and interlingual communication. We believe that English as a global language (lingua franca) can be considered as a variant of English, but to some extent simplified. However, this option does not mean that it is incorrect or primitive language, because people can express their opinions both through the simplest statements and through complex arguments, using language forms correctly and effectively. English was originally one of the most widely used international languages before gaining global status, and in its foreign status it was closely linked to the national cultures of English-speaking nations. However, as English is used to communicate around the world, a new global culture is emerging and the values of global culture are becoming part of the identity of members of the English-speaking community as a lingua franca, along with their ethnic and national identities. With the beginning of globalization, the English language has changed, and this process continues to this day. It does not correspond to any national variety of English. Such English is culturally neutral. We see prospects for further research in the study of the problem of variability of English as a lingua franca at different language levels.
