Емоційно-експресивні конотації в політичній полеміці

Abstract

У статті досліджено емоційно-експресивні конотації в політичній полеміці, а саме проаналізовано підбір і використання лексичних засобів задля збільшення експресивності й образності політичної промови та досягнення запланованого прагматичного ефекту. На матеріалі вибірки з корпусу електронних газетних текстів та версій політичних промов Барака Обами та Мітта Ромні проаналізовано способи досягнення експресивності політичної промови за допомогою вживання метафор, епітетів та метонімічних моделей. Подано теоретичні засади вивчення метафор, епітетів та метонімічних конструкцій вітчизняними та зарубіжними лінгвістами в межах антропоцентричної парадигми. Проаналізовано ефективність стилістичних засобів мовного впливу у промовах Б. Обами та М. Ромні. Наведено приклади найбільш уживаних структурних моделей метафоричних конструкцій, епітетів та метонімічних моделей у промовах політиків. Розглянуто основне призначення та завдання епітета, яке полягає в тому, щоб підкреслити характерну рису, визначальну якість певного предмета або явища і, потрапивши в нове семантичне поле, збагачувати це поле новим емоційним чи смисловим нюансом. Наведено приклади вживання епітетів у політичних промовах із метою як досягнення експресивності висловлювання, так і дискредитації опонента. На матеріалі низки політичних промов проаналізовано вживання метафоричних конструкцій та виокремлено метафори розміру, особистої зверхності, відстані, субординації та вибору. Крім того, у статті розглянуто метонімію – близький до метафори троп, за допомогою якого значення слів переноситься з певних явищ і предметів на інші за суміжністю. Експресивні засоби, як-от метафора, епітет та метонімія, розглянуто як основний чинник політичної культури.

The article deals with the emotionally expressive connotations in political debate, as well as analyzes the selection and the use of lexical means, which are used to increase the expressiveness and imagery of political speech with the aim to achieve the desirable pragmatic effect. Considering the material of the research based on the lexical corpus of political debate between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney during the 2012 election campaign in the USA, the ways of achieving the expressiveness of political speech through the use of metaphors, epithets and metonymic models were studied and analyzed. Theoretical bases of studying metaphors, epithets and metonymic constructions both by Ukrainian and foreign linguists within the anthropocentric paradigm are given. The effectiveness of stylistic means of language influence in the speeches of B. Obama and M. Romney is analyzed. Examples of the most commonly used structural models of metaphorical constructions, epithets and metonymic models in the speeches of politicians are given. The main purpose and task of the epithet is considered, which is to emphasize the characteristic feature, the defining quality of a particular object or phenomenon and, getting into a new semantic field, to enrich this field with a new emotional or semantic nuance. Examples of the use of epithets in political speeches are given both in order to achieve expressiveness of speech, and in order to discredit the opponent. The use of metaphorical constructions is analyzed on the basis the lexical corpus of political debate, and metaphors of size, metaphors of personal superiority, metaphors of distance, metaphors of subordination and metaphors of choice are singled out. In addition, the article considers metonymy, which is close to the metaphor, and with the help of which the meaning of words is transferred from certain phenomena and objects to others in contiguity. Expressive means, such as metaphor, epithet and metonymy, are considered as the main factor of political culture.
