Зумовленість літературних персонажів культурно-історичним контекстом (на прикладі української літератури першої половини ХІХ ст.)

Abstract

У статті розглядається вплив тогочасної епохи, а саме доби козацтва, на формування характерів літературних героїв. Автор показує, яким чином письменники української літератури І пол. ХІХ ст., як-от М. Гоголь, Є. Гребінка, витворюють історичну добу, не звертаючись до конкретних історичних фактів і подій, а саме через особистість своїх персонажів. На прикладі творів М. Гоголя «Тарас Бульба» та Є. Гребінки «Ніжинський полковник Золотаренко», «Чайковський» висвітлюється залежність характерів головних героїв від специфіки історичного контексту. Завдання письменників – не змалювати історичну правду а через образи репрезентувати дух і настрій тогочасної епохи, наголошуючи на її складності, суперечливості і нездатності на компроміси. Щоб зрозуміти характер і вчинки літературних персонажів М. Гоголя і Є. Гребінки, нашим сучасникам потрібно ознайомитися з тогочасними реаліями, які є рушійним чинником під час формування особистості. Автор наголошує, що кожен із героїв є втіленням певної ідеї, що була на той час особливо актуальною. Образи витворилися під впливом суспільного середовища, для якого поняття патріотизму, відповідальності та боротьби за долю народу, честі, гідності, любові були нерозривні і взаємопов’язані. У часи, коли Батьківщина перебуває в небезпеці і потерпає від війни з ворогом, немає місця компромісам, адже на перший план виходить громадянський обов’язок, а не особисті інтереси. Те, що здається жорстокістю, у тих умовах просто необхідне, щоб не просто вистояти, а перемогти. У статті проаналізовано характери головних героїв творів М. Гоголя та Є. Гребінки, показано чинники, які формували їхній світогляд і пріоритети. Незважаючи на те, що образи Тараса Бульби, полковника Івана, полковника Золотаренка є більше художніми, ніж історичними, вони дають чітке уявлення про особистість тогочасної доби.

The article examines the influence of that era, and the Cossack era itself, on the formation of the characters of literary heroes. The author shows how writers of Ukrainian literature of the first half. In the 19th century, in particular, M. Gogol and E. Hrebinka created a historical era without referring to specific historical facts and events, namely through the personality of their characters. The dependence of the characters of the main characters on the specifics of the historical context is highlighted on the example of the works of M. Gogol “Taras Bulba” and E. Hrebinka “Nizhyn Colonel Zolotarenko”, “Tchaikovsky”. The task of the writers was not to depict the historical truth, but through images to represent the spirit and mood of the time, emphasizing its complexity, contradictions and inability to compromise. To understand the nature and actions of the literary characters of M. Gogol and E. Hrebinka, our contemporaries need to do so not from the standpoint of today, but primarily to get acquainted with the realities of the time, which are the driving force in the formation of personality. The author emphasizes that each of the characters is the embodiment of a certain idea, which was especially relevant at that time. The images were created under the influence of a social environment for which the concepts of patriotism, responsibility and struggle for the fate of the people, honor, dignity, love were inseparable and interconnected. At a time when the Motherland is in danger and suffering from war with the enemy, there is no room for compromise, because civic duty comes to the fore, not personal interests. What seems cruel in those conditions is simply necessary not only to endure, but also to win. The article analyzes the characters of the main characters of the works of M. Gogol and E. Hrebinka, shows the factors that shaped their worldview and priorities. Despite the fact that the images of Taras Bulba, сolonel Ivan, сolonel Zolotarenko are more artistic than historical, they clearly give an idea of the personality of that time.
