Комплімент, його визначення та умови реалізації

Abstract

Метою статті є дослідження умов реалізації компліменту та експлікування його формули та визначення. Досягнення поставленої мети відбувається шляхом з’ясування комунікативних інтенцій та екстралінгвальних чинників, що лежать в основі умов реалізації компліменту, а також через демонстрацію практичного застосування виведеної формули компліменту. У межах лінгвопрагматичного теоретичного підходу та на основі теорії мовленнєвих актів (МА) методом суцільної вибірки виокремлено 1 555 текстових фрагментів, що містять комплімент. Застосування прийому інтент-аналізу дало змогу визначити комунікативні наміри мовців та розкрити прихований підтекст імпліцитних МА, а завдяки методу дискурсивного аналізу з’ясовано вихідні умови реалізації компліментів. У дослідженні обґрунтовано доцільність вибору драматичних текстів як емпіричного матеріалу. Доведено, що обов’язковими умовами реалізації компліменту є умова присутності щонайменше двох мовців, попередні умови, умова пропозиційного змісту, комунікативної мети, щирості, прагматичної коректності, психічного підґрунтя. На прикладах показано, що першу умову через особливості драматичного тексту часто порушують. На основі вагомого корпусу дослідження та з урахуванням наукових праць про комплімент та реакцію на нього виведено формулу компліменту, що враховує умови реалізації компліменту, комунікативні інтенції мовця, відображені у функціях цього МА, типи реалізації експліцитних та імпліцитних смислів під час висловлення прямих та непрямих компліментів, морфолого-лексичні та риторико-стилістичні засоби вираження, а також різноманітні типи реакції на комплімент. Наочно показано, як цю формулу можна використовувати під час дослідження комплексного компліменту в галузі прагмалінгвістики. Виведено авторську дефініцію досліджуваного МА, що віддзеркалює багатогранний, широкий прагматичний потенціал компліменту. Це визначення можна застосовувати під час вибірки емпіричної бази дослідження та для аналізу МА компліменту як на матеріалі німецької мови, так і під час типологічних досліджень в інших мовах.

The purpose of the article is to study the conditions of implementation of the compliment and to determine its formula and definition. The goal is achieved by clarifying the communicative intentions and extralingual factors underlying the conditions of the compliment, as well as by demonstrating the practical application of the derived formula of the compliment. The research is methodologically based on the linguopragmatic theoretical approach and on the theory of speech acts (SA); 1 555 text fragments containing the SA compliment were isolated by the method of continuous sampling. The use of intent analysis allowed to determine the communicative intentions of the speakers and to reveal the hidden subtext of implicit SA, and the method of discursive analysis clarified the initial conditions for the implementation of compliments. The study substantiates the expediency of choosing dramatic texts as empirical material. It is proved that the obligatory conditions for the implementation of a compliment are the condition of the presence of at least two speakers, preconditions, the condition of the propositional content, communicative purpose, sincerity, pragmatic correctness, and mental basis. The examples show that the first condition is often violated due to the peculiarities of the dramatic text. On the basis of a significant body of research and taking into account scientific works on the compliment and reaction to it, the formula of the compliment is derived, taking into account the conditions of the compliment, communicative intentions of the speaker reflected in the functions of this SA, types of explicit and implicit meanings when expressing direct and indirect compliments, morphological-lexical and rhetorical-stylistic means of expression and various types of reaction to a compliment. It is clearly shown how this formula can be used in the study of complex SA compliment in the field of pragmalinguistics. The author’s definition of the studied SA is derived, which reflects the multifaceted, broad pragmatic potential of the compliment. Therefore, this definition can be used when sampling the empirical basis of the study and for the analysis of SA compliment, both on the material of German and during typological studies in other languages.
