Аналіз концепту «незалежність» на основі промов президентів України та Сполучених Штатів Америки

Abstract

На думку багатьох учених, мова зазвичай може виявляти те, що людина бачить і яким чином інтерпретує світ. Очевидно, що об’єктом сучасних когнітивних досліджень, зокрема лінгвістичних, є когнітивні процеси, пов’язані з освоєнням та інтерпретацією людиною світу. Результатом таких процесів є впорядкована система знань індивіда про світ – концептуальна картина світу, основним елементом якої є концепт. Статтю присвячено аналізу концепту «незалежність» на основі промов президентів України та Сполучених Штатів Америки за останні декілька років, а саме використання цього концепту в українській і англійській мовах. Проблема у визначенні концепту постає сьогодні особливо гостро, адже це питання перегукується з поняттям національної ідеї. У статті на матеріалі окремих промов президентів України та Сполучених Штатів Америки до Дня Незалежності за останні 8 років з’ясовано специфіку концепту «незалежність». Передусім у роботі розглянуто поняття «концепт», яке є ключовим під час дослідження. Не викликає жодних сумнівів, що є багато дефініцій терміна «концепт». Кожен із лінгвістичних підходів по-своєму трактує це поняття. Водночас серед усіх визначень можемо виділити деякі спільні риси, сформувати на їхній основі окреме, узагальнене визначення: концепт – це універсальна, глобальна одиниця ментального рівня, яка має чітку й послідовну структуру, яка за допомогою мови може виражати та пояснювати систему знань людини про все, що її оточує. Також у статті представлено класифікацію концептів відомої професорки О. Кубрякової. У процесі дослідження представлено особливості репрезентації концепту у двох мовах, зʼясовано структурно- семантичну організацію зв’язку між роками висловлення промов. Практична частина полягає в лексикографічному огляді поняття «незалежність» в українській і англійській мовах. Під час цього виду аналізу було використано різноманітні іншомовні словники для з’ясування значень та зв’язків між концептом. Дослідження промов дало змогу дійти висновку, що значення концепту може варіюватися залежно від року проголошення промови, особи (тобто президента), інших важливих чинників.

According to many scholars, language can usually reveal what a person sees and interprets the world. The object of modern cognitive research, particularly linguistics, is the cognitive processes associated with the development and interpretation of the human world. The result of such approaches is an orderly system of personal knowledge about the world – a conceptual picture of the world, the main element of which is the concept. The article is devoted to analyzing the concept of “independence” based on the speeches of the Presidents of Ukraine and the United States over the past few years, particularly the use of this concept in Ukrainian and English. The problem of defining the concept is especially acute today because this issue clearly echoes the national idea. The article, based on separate speeches of the Presidents of Ukraine and the United States on Independence Day over the past eight years, clarifies the concept of “independence”. First of all, the paper considers the “concept”, which is crucial in the study. There is no doubt that there are not many definitions of the term “concept”. Each of the linguistic approaches interprets this concept in its way. At the same time, among all definitions, we can distinguish some common features, forming on their basis a separate, generalized definition: a concept is a universal, global unit of mental level, which has a clear and consistent structure that can express and explain the human knowledge system. that surrounds it. The article also presents a classification of concepts by the famous professor O. Kubryakova. In the course of the research, the peculiarities of the representation of the concept in two languages are presented, the structural-semantic organization of the connection between the years of speeches is clarified. The practical part is a lexicographical review of the concept of “independence” in Ukrainian and English. During this type of analysis, various foreign dictionaries were used to clarify the meanings and relationships between the concept. A study of the speeches concluded that the concept’s meaning might vary depending on the year of the speech, the person (i.e., in our case, the president), and other essential factors.
