Дієслова to be, to have, to do: функції у реченні, застосування та способи перекладу слів

Abstract

У статті досліджено синтаксичні та граматичні функції дієслів to be, to have, to do у реченні. Продемонстровано залежність коректного перекладу від правильного і швидкого визначення ролі цих слів у реченні. Показано, як переклад може змінюватися залежно від слів, які йдуть після to be, to have, to do. Оскільки дієслово to be є одним із найчастіше вживаних, найпопулярнішим в англійській мові та використовується щодня, майже в кожному реченні, важливо розібратися, як, коли і в яких формах це дієслово вживається. Дієслова to be, to have, to do можуть бути як допоміжними, так і смисловими. Дієслово to be може описувати розташування, стан чи давати характеристику певній особі чи предмету. Дієслово to have може бути смисловим, допоміжним, модальним; залежно від цього змінюється переклад. Також із цим дієсловом побудовано багато сталих конструкцій і стійких словосполучень. Дієслово to do подібно до попередніх дієслів може бути смисловим, допоміжним, в англійській мові з ним побудовано сталі словосполучення. На прикладах показано важливість швидкого і правильного визначення функцій цих дієслів у реченні. Актуальність дослідження зумовлена недостатнім вивченням перекладу дієслів to be, to have, to do. Розглянуто вживання дієслів з інфінітивом та утворення певних конструкцій, розуміння яких впливає на точність перекладу. Показано, наскільки важливу роль відіграє знання Use of English, а саме сталих конструкцій. Статтю присвячено також дослідженню методів перекладу сталих конструкцій із конкретизацією та визначенням їхньої функції у реченнях. Продемонстровано важливість аналізу внутрішніх смислових зв’язків між компонентами у словосполученні. Доведено, що немає єдиного універсального способу перекладу. Показано важливість поєднання знань рідної та іноземної мов, вмінь, досвіду і звичайного перекладацького чуття у процесі перекладу дієслів to be, to have, to do.

The article deals with syntactic and grammatical functions of the verbs to be, to have, to do in a sentence. The dependence of a correct translation on a right and quick defining of the role of the given verbs in a sentence has been demonstrated. The authors showed the change of a translation depending on the words after to be, to have, to do. Therefore, to be is one of the most frequent words and the most popular in English, which is used every day, almost in each sentence that is why it is important to define how, when and in which forms this verb is used. The given verbs to be, to have, to do can have both auxiliary and semantic meaning. The verb to be can describe placement, condition and characterize some person or subject. The verb to have can be semantic, auxiliary and modal meaning and translation can change depending on its meaning. Many phrases are built with this verb. The verb to do has similar meaning as previous verbs; it can have semantic and auxiliary meaning and is used in building phrases in English. The authors provided examples showing the necessity of a quick and correct defining of functions of the given verbs in a sentence to have a correct translation. The actuality of the given investigation is in insufficient study of the translation of the verbs to be, to have, to do taking into account their roles and functions in sentences. The usage of the verbs with infinitive and making some constructions, the understanding of which influences the accuracy of the translation. It was shown the importance of knowing the Use of English including phrases because not knowing the given phrases true translation can not be made. The article is devoted to the investigation of the ways of the translation of phrases The importance of the analysis of internal semantic connection between components in a phrase taking into consideration also a wide context has been shown. It was proved that there is no one universal way of translation. It was demonstrated the importance of combination of a good command of both native and foreign languages, skills, experience and usual translation feeling translating the verbs to be, to have, to do.
