| Abstract: | Дана стаття присвячена вивченню проблем фінансової безпеки банківського сектору України у контексті повномасштабного російського вторгнення. Автор аналізує вплив зовнішніх факторів, пов'язаних із військовим конфліктом та анексією територій, на функціонування та стійкість банківської системи. Особлива увага приділяється ризикам, які виникають у зв'язку з втратою територіальної цілісності та економічною неста-більністю у зоні конфлікту. У роботі розглядаються стратегії та заходи, які можуть бути призначені для забез-печення фінансової стійкості банківського сектору в умовах геополітичної напруженості. Досліджено структуру доходів української банківської системи за останні 5 років. Розглянуто умови, створені Національним банком України для нормального функціонування банків у надзвичайно складних умовах. Визначаються основні на-прями політики та реформ, спрямованих на збереження інтеграції банківської системи України в міжнародних фінансових ринках та забезпечення її стійкості в умовах внутрішньої та зовнішньої нестабільності. |
| Description: | This article is devoted to the study of financial security problems of the banking sector of Ukraine in the context of a full-scale Russian invasion. The author analyzes the influence of external factors related to the military conflict and annexation of territories on the functioning and stability of the banking system. Special attention is paid to the risks that arise in connection with the loss of territorial integrity and economic instability in the conflict zone. The work considers strategies and measures that can be designed to ensure the financial stability of the banking sector in conditions of geopolitical tensions. The income structure of the Ukrainian banking system over the past 5 years has been studied. The conditions created by the National Bank of Ukraine for the normal functioning of banks in extremely difficult conditions are considered. The main directions of policy and reforms aimed at preserving the integration of the banking system of Ukraine in international financial markets and ensuring its stability in conditions of internal and external instability are defined. All aspects of public life, with a special emphasis on the economic sphere, in particular – the banking system in Ukraine were negatively affected due to political and economic instability in the period from 2013 to 2015 (the most serious in the entire history of the Ukraine’s independence), the annexation of Crimea, the beginning of the conflict in the East and the full-scale invasion of Russia in 2022. Ensuring the financial security of the banking system in Ukraine has become a major factor in promoting the socio-economic development of the country, increasing the welfare of the population, increasing investments, managing national finances, organiz-ing credit and ensuring financial stability. This is achieved by stimulating economic growth and ensuring the stability and purchasing power of the national currency. The study of this topic is of significant scientific and practical interest. Highlighting the key points, the military actions on the territory of Ukraine do significantly affect all aspects of life and the banking system. Because of the regulatory and effective measures of the National Bank of Ukraine, the banking system in Ukraine managed to quickly adapt to the colossal changes and currently continues to function stably despite the war, terror and cyber attacks to say the least of it. To restore and develop the financial sector in the post-war period it is, however, important for banking institutions to assure rebuilding the banking system of Ukraine by implementing effective operational measures through operational and investment activities. |
