Утвердження та діяльність сестер Чину св. Василія Великого на Закарпатті та Пряшівщині у 20-х роках ХХ ст.

Abstract

Питання про організацію на Закарпатті обителі сестер василіянок постало на порядку денному восени 1921 р. Саме тоді активізувалися перемовини між монастирем сестер Чину св. Василія Великого (ЧСВВ) у Станіславові (нині – Івано-Франківськ) та духовними і світськими особами в Ужгороді, прихильними до ідеї поширення їхньої діяльності на теренах краю. Відтак зі Станіславова до Ужгорода прибули перші дві черниці і було започатковано процес створення монастиря. Щоправда, утвердження в Ужгороді сестер василіянок, кількість яких на початку 1922 р. зросла до п’яти, проходило з неабиякими труднощами. Адже на той час на Закарпатті не було належних умов для повноцінного функціонування чернечої обителі. Тож влітку 1922 р. сестри василіянки переїхали до Пряшева. Там вони перебували до осені 1924 року. За цей період сталися зміни в керівництві Мукачівської єпархії. У 1924 р. її новим очільником став єпископ Петро Гебей. На його побажання у вересні того ж року три черниці василіянки повернулися з Пряшева до Ужгорода. Так розпочалася їхня подвижницька місія на Закарпатті. Монахинь відразу ж було залучено до роботи в інтернаті для дівчат. У 1929 р. на Закарпатті налічувалося 28 сестер ЧСВВ. Вони опікувалися двома інтернатами та одним сиротинцем. Кілька василіянок залишилося на Пряшівщині. Там у їхньому віданні перебував сиротинець.

The question of organization of the Basilian sisters convent in Transcarpathia appeared on the agenda in the fall of 1921. Just then the negotiations intensified between the monastery of sisters of the Order of St. Basil the Great (CHSVV) in Stanislav (now Ivano-Frankivsk) and cleric and secular persons in Uzhhorod, who were adherent to the idea of spreading their activities on the territory of the region. So the first two nuns arrived from Stanislav to Uzhhorod and the process of establishing a monastery started. However, confirmation of the Basilian sisters in Uzhhorod, who were increased to five of them at the beginning of 1922, was passing with considerable difficulties. After all there were no proper conditions for a full-fledged functioning of the monastery at that time. So in the summer of 1922, the Basilian sisters moved to Priashiv. They stayed there until the fall of 1924. Within that period, the changes occurred in the leadership of the Mukachevo diocese. In 1924 Bishop Petro Gebei became its new head. At his request three Basilian nuns returned from Priashiv to Uzhhorod in September of the same year. Thus their ascetic mission in Transcarpathia stared. The nuns were immediately involved in the work in the boarding school for girls. In 1929, there were 28 sisters of the CHSVV in Transcarpathia. They took care of two boarding schools and one orphanage. A few Basilians remained in Pryashiv region. There was an orphanage under their care. The activities of the Basilian sisters contributed to the revitalization of spiritual life in Transcarpathia and Pryashiv region, directing it in the Ukrainian direction.
