Проблеми передачі українських власних назв словацькою мовою

Abstract

Одним із найважливіших національних складників як мовної, так і культурної картини світу є антропоніми й топоніми. Питання адекватної передачі українських власних назв засобами словацької мови є актуальним і водночас не розробленим. У сучасній лінгвістиці спостерігається значний інтерес до проблем ономастики, адже вони складають один із найважливіших національних складників як мовної, так і культурної картини світу. Метою дослідження є аналіз та характеристика основних проблем і способів відтворення українських антропонімів словацькою мовою. У статті розглянуто правову основу правил передачі іншомовних власних назв словацькою мовою, проаналізовано основні особливості, способи і помилки відтворення українських антропонімів і топонімів словацькою мовою. Відтворенню українських топонімів у словацьких перекладах властива велика варіантність. Її причини у відсутності єдиного правила, як відтворювати іншомовні власні назви. Непослідовним є підхід різних державних установ і засобів масової інформації, які здебільшого антропоніми транслітерують, але топоніми наводять або в первісній українській формі, або у традиційному словацькому відтворенні. Головною проблемою передачі українських власних назв є те, що всі вони відтворюються через російську мову. Україна і Словаччина мають давні культурні зв’язки, подібну історію, ці дві держави у центрі Європи довший час не мали власної незалежності. Саме відсутність власної державності ще й нині позначається на традиціях щодо передачі іншомовних онімів засобами словацької мови, які часто позначені деформаціями. Тому українські топоніми функціонують у системі словацької мови у формі транскрипцій із російської мови (Kyjev, Ľvov, Charkov, Rovno, Dneper). Усі проблеми у відтворенні українських імен і прізвищ словацькою мовою в основному пов’язані з різним підходом перекладачів до передачі формальної структури власних назв: використовується або транслітерація (Natalia), або практична транскрипція (Natalija), але неприпустимою є передача українських онімів словацькими (Natália). Проведений аналіз переконливо свідчить про гостру потребу вироблення чітких, належно вмотивованих принципів передачі української пропріальної лексики засобами словацької мови.

One of the most important national components of the linguistic and cultural picture of the world are anthroponyms and toponyms. The problem of adequate reproduction of Ukrainian proper names by means of the Slovak language is topical though it is not fully elaborated. There is considerable interest in the problems of onomastics in the modern linguistics, since it constitutes one of the most important national components of both the linguistic and cultural picture of the world. The purpose of the study is to analyze and characterize the main problems and ways of Ukrainian anthroponyms reproduction into Slovak. The article deals with the legal basis of the rules of rendering of foreign proper names to the Slovak language, analyze the main features, methods and errors of reproduction of Ukrainian anthroponyms and toponyms into Slovak. The reproduction of Ukrainian toponyms in Slovak translations is highly variant. The reason for it is the absence of a unified rule for how to reproduce foreign-language proper names. The approach of various state institutions and mass media is inconsequent; as a rule anthroponyms are transliterated but toponyms are provided in the original Ukrainian form or in traditional Slovak reproduction. The main problem with the Ukrainian proper names reproduction is that they are all rendered through the Russian language. Ukraine and Slovakia have a long cultural connection, similar history; the two states in the central Europe did not have independence for a long time. The absence of their own state is still reflected today in the tradition of the reproduction of foreign-language onymes by means of the Slovak language, which are often marked by deformations. That is why Ukrainian place names function in the Slovak language system in the form of transcriptions from the Russian language (Kyjev, Ľvov, Charkov, Rovno, Dneper). All problems in the reproduction of Ukrainian first and last names in the Slovak language are mainly connected with the different approaches of translators to the reproduction of the formal structure of proper names: either transliteration (Natalia) or practical transcription (Natalija) is used, but the reproduction of Ukrainian onyms using Slovak ( Natália) is unacceptable. The conducted analysis clearly demonstrates the urgent need to develop clear, properly motivated principles of the reproduction of Ukrainian proprietary vocabulary by means of the Slovak language.
