Особливості зображення простору в класичному детективі

Abstract

У статті розглядається проблема визначення особливостей зображення простору у класичному детективі як відображення не лише особливостей концептуалізації та категоризації у свідомості автора, але і згідно жанрових вимог для побудови певних смислів. Простір у літературі є невід’ємним складником хронотопу, який визначає жанрові особливості літературного твору. У статті доведено, що опис простору у класичному детективі базується на традиційно-побутовому уявленні про простір, є дискретним, слугує засобом повідомлення про місцезнаходження об’єктів, про обстановку, створення емоційного забарвлення. Встановлено, що простір у класичному детективі формується як результат осмислення його функцій щодо відбиття взаємозв’язків сюжетотвірних елементів детективу. Сюжет класичного детективу будується навколо вирішення детективом таємниці, зазвичай таємниці злочину. Деталізація елементів простору не є випадковою, але є засобом надання читачеві необхідної інформації для створення власних умовиводів, що є характерною рисою жанру класичного детективу. Мовна репрезентація просторових характеристик і просторових відношень у текстах класичного детективу слугує активації в свідомості читача таких ментальних структур, які притаманні цьому жанру. На матеріалі англомовних текстів творів А. Конан Дойла та А. Крісті, які віднесено до жанру класичного детективу, стаття показує, як завдяки виділенню авторами певних деталей в описі місцезнаходження об’єктів, обстановки, житла, пейзажу, а також опису простору, який надає емоційного напруження та таємничого забарвлення, відбувається відображення взаємозв’язку концептів, що створюють загальний контекст, описують дійових осіб, об’єкти, обставини, вчинки, а саме ключових концептів ТАЄМНИЦЯ, ЗЛОЧИН, СИЩИК, ЗЛОЧИНЕЦЬ.

The article focuses on the problem of identification of peculiarities of space description in the classic detective fiction reflecting not only the features of an author’s conceptualization and categorization but also complying with the requirements of the genre and aimed at particular meaning making. Space in literature is a constituent of chronotope that determines the genre features of the literary work. The article proves that the description of space in the classic detective fiction is based on a traditionally-domestic idea about space, is discrete, serves as the means of communication about the location of objects, reporting about a situation, creation of emotional colouring. The article states that space in the classic detective fiction is formed as a result of comprehension of its functions in relation to reflection of interconnection between elements forming the plot of a detective story. The plot of a classic detective story is built around the solution by a detective a mystery of some crime caused by a criminal. Elaboration of space elements is not occasional, but is the means to provide the reader with all necessary information for their own deductions and this is specific for the classic detective fiction. Verbal representation of spatial descriptions and spatial relations in the texts of classic detective fiction serves to activating in the reader’s mind the mental structures inherent to this genre. The research was conducted on the detective texts by A.C. Doyle and A. Christie considered to represent the classic detective fiction. The article proves the idea and shows how due to the selection of certain details in description of location of objects, situations, accommodation, landscapes as well as the description of space that gives emotional tension and mysterious colouring, the reflection of interconnection between concepts which create a general context, describe characters, objects, circumstances, acts, namely, key concepts MYSTERY, CRIME, DETECTIVE, CRIMINAL is carried out.
