Функційно-стилістична специфіка перекладу науково-технічного тексту

Abstract

Статтю присвячено виокремленню лексичних, морфологічних, синтаксичних та графічних особливостей, з якими найчастіше зустрічається перекладач науково-технічної літератури, здійснено їх перекладознавчий аналіз та визначено поширені стратегії передачі складних явищ лексичної системи англійської науково-технічної літератури у процесі перекладу українською мовою. Специфіка науково-технічного перекладу полягає передовсім у тому, що він має справу з особливою сферою людської діяльності – різними галузями науки і техніки, для вираження яких існують певні лексичні, граматичні та стилістичні засоби мови. Науково-технічні тексти значно відрізняються від текстів інших стилів та містять специфічні характеристики. З’ясовано мовні особливості англійської науково-технічної літератури, які суттєво впливають на специфіку її перекладу українською мовою. Представлено характерні особливості науково-технічної літератури, а саме: точність, стислість вираження думки, логічна послідовність та повнота викладу матеріалу. Проаналізовано лінгвістичні риси науково-технічної літератури, характерні мовні конструкції та способи їх перекладу; розглянуто основні труднощі, етапи та види перекладу науково-технічних текстів, беручи до уваги лексико-граматичний, морфологічний та синтаксичні рівні. Увагу зосереджено на відмінностях синтаксичних структур англійської та української мов, особливостях їх відтворення. З-поміж лексичних особливостей науково-технічного перекладу виокремлено багатозначність термінів, правильне застосування тієї чи тієї стратегії перекладу лексики, переклад термінів-неологізмів, абревіатур та різноманітних скорочень. Указано на граматичні відмінності, зумовлені особливостями граматичної будови вихідної мови та мови перекладу (форми пасивного стану, неособові форми дієслів, дієприкметникові звороти й специфічні синтаксичні конструкції, особові займенники першої особи однини та одночленні інфінітивні й номінативні речення тощо). Зосереджено увагу і на графічних особливостях перекладу науково-технічних текстів. Зазначено, що знання лексико-граматичних особливостей різногалузевих текстів сприяє здійсненню адекватного перекладу.

Тhe article focuses on lexical, morphological, syntactical, and graphical peculiarities that the translator of scientific and technological literature encounters the most often. There are provided the analysis of their translation and the most widely spread strategies of rendering the most complex phenomena of lexical system of English scientific and technological texts into Ukrainian. Specifics of scientific and technological translation are these that they deal with a particular field of human activity which includes different areas and branches of science and technology for expressing of which there are used certain particular stylistic means of the language. Sientific and technological texts differ significantly from the texts of other styles, and contain specific characteristics. It is determined the specifics of scientific and technological texts in English, which make a considerable inpact on their translation into Ukrainian. The paper demonstrates the peculiarities of scientific and technological texts: precision, briefness of expression, logical consistency and fullness of exposition. It analyses linguistic features of thescientific and technological texts, peculiar linguistic constructions and the ways of their translation; it considers the main difficulties, stages and genres of the scientific and technological texts translation with respect to lexico-grammatical, morphological and syntactical levels. However, the major attention has been focused on the basic differences of the syntactic structures in English and Ukrainian languages, and peculiarities of their expressions. Among the specifics of the scientific and technological translation, it has been singled out the terminological polysemy, correct use of this or that lexical transtating strategy, translation of terms-neologisms, actonyms and abbreviatiations. It is noted that the grammatical differences, conditioned by the grammatical construction of the original language and the target language (the passive form, impersonal verbs, participles, phrasal verbs and specific syntactical constructions, personal pronouns of the first person in singular, monominal infinitives and nominative sentences, etc.). The attention has also been focused on the graphical peculiarities of scientific and technological translation. It is noted that the knowledge of lexicogrammatical specifics enables the production of adequate translation.
