Освіта як цінність у контексті міграційних процесів в Україні

Abstract

У статті подається аналіз міграційних процесів в Україні крізь призму ціннісного сприйняття освіти. Особлива увага приділяється висвітленню міграції студентської молоді за кордон та факторів, що її спричиняють. Досліджується роль освіти для розвитку окремої особистості та системного духовного оновлення суспільства.

Deep economic and social crises that affected Ukraine causes a great outflow of young people abroad and education plays a very important role in these processes. Initiative and creative youth goes abroad in search of the best opportunities for self-realization. The current situation is paradoxical, since the most initiative stratum of the population, which is essential for radical transformations in the country, emigrates in search of better opportunities abroad. Competitiveness of Ukraine in the world education market is not yet high. Students must be equipped with knowledge and skills which are needed to participate effectively as members of society and contribute towards the development of shared values and common identity. But the value of education is reduced by the huge mismatch between our educational system and the job skills employers need. After graduating from the university, graduates often do not possess knowledge and skills that are necessary for recruitment. Very often a priori work experience and a certain personal qualities are more important than a diploma. Therefore, a great number of young people after graduating from the university move abroad as low-skilled labor because of higher wages than in Ukraine. Many school graduates do not even continue their studies as they are involved in labor migration by their parents. Education should become one of the main means of system transformation and spiritual revival of the Ukrainian society. Man and society cannot exist without values. It is the value system that forms the spiritual platform for development of each individual, and society as a whole. Education provides individual freedom and empowerment. High-quality education develops critical thinking, promotes self-organization and responsibility. These qualities are so important for Ukrainian society. This is the reason why the experience of European countries of creation a system based on multiculturalism and high professionalism is so valuable for Ukraine.
