Погляд на вирішення проблем перекладу пам’ятки «Послання Климента Смолятича»

Abstract

У статті досліджується проблема відмінності перекладу фрагментів руської пам’ятки «Послання Климента Смолятича» в текстах українських літературознавців О. Сліпушко, Б. Лобовик та російських учених Н. Понирко та А. Карпова. Автор пропонує уникнути різночитання давнього тексту та уніфікувати незрозумілі місця перекладу, які стосуються зазначених елементів тексту: «во елиньскых нырЂхъ», «изгои же и сябры», «рещи алфу … а виту». У фрагменті тексту «во елиньскых нырЂхъ» помилково трактується слово «нырЂ» у значенні «стовп», що є неправильним, оскільки слово «стовп» раніше згадується автором в оригінальному тексті, а також переклад суперечить традиційному використанню топосу стовпа, що стосувався отців церкви, святих, мучеників та ін. Інший фрагмент пам’ятки «изгои же и сябры» демонструє використання автором принципу антитези, вживання якої призводить до коректного варіанта перекладу фрагмента як «ізгої та сябри», що цілком відповідає середньовічним номінаціям цих суспільних прошарків – людей, які вийшли з будь-якої общини, та тих, хто в ній перебуває. Фраза «рещи алфу … а виту» виступає в ролі варіанта топосу античних часів – «альфа і омега», які означали вищий порядок речей – Господню гармонію, тоді як навмисне використання перших двох літер абетки Климентом Смолятичем указує на низький рівень освіти пресвітера Фоми. У запропонованій розвідці пропонується відмінний погляд на дослідження тексту давньої пам’ятки – з перекладознавчого ракурсу, що є, на нашу думку, малодослідженим аспектом. Проблема в різних трактуваннях оригінального тексту призводить до часткового порушення первісного розуміння тексту, що і так дійшов до сучасного читача не від першої особи (истолкована Афонасиемь мнихомъ). Отже, встановлення уніфікованого перекладу є вкрай важливим завданням.

In the article author explores the problem of differences in the translation of fragments of the Russian monument “Message of Kliment Smolyatych” in the texts of Ukrainian literary critics O. Slipushko, B. Lobovik and Russian scholars N. Ponyrko and A. Karpov. The author proposes to avoid misreading of the ancient text and to unify the incomprehensible places of translation which concern the specified elements of the text: “vo elynʹskykh nyrakh”, “yzhoy zhe y syabry”, “reshi alfu … a vytu”. In the fragment of the text “vo elynʹskykh nyrakh” the word “nyr” is misinterpreted in the sense of “pillar”, which is incorrect, because the word “pillar” was mentioned earlier by the author in the original text, and the translation contradicts the traditional use of topos of the pillar: saints, martyrs, etc. Another fragment of the monument “yzhoy zhe y syabry” demonstrates the author’s use of the principle of antithesis, the use of which leads to a correct version of the translation of the fragment as “yzhoy zhe y syabry” which fully corresponds to the medieval nominations of these social strata: people who came from any community and those who do not view it. The phrase “things of alpha… a vita” acts as a variant of the topos of ancient times – “alpha and omega”, which means the highest order of things – the Lord of Harmony, while instead of the traditional, deliberate use of the first two liters of the alphabet by Kliment Smolyatych education of Presbyter Thomas. The proposed exploration offers an excellent view of the study of the text of an ancient monument – from the perspective of translation studies, which in our opinion is an aspect that is poorly studied. The problem in different interpretations of the original text leads to a partial violation of the original understanding of the text, which has reached the modern reader not from the first person (interpreted by Afonasiem monk). Therefore, establishing a unified translation is an extremely important task.
