Abstract

Vinnichenko in the novel "Balance" depicts the participants of revolution who after failure of their ideals found themselves in the strange land in the exceptional situation. It helps to understand the psychology of each of them. The characters either display fortitude or break not standing the test. The ideals of the characters of the novel proved to bе illusive and this is indicative of hopelessness of the idea of reconstruction of the world and the very person. The category of balance shows up and it has to reconcile а personality with oneself. Vinnichenko makes the psychological analysis in the novel deeper, he searches new means, peeps in the dark comers of human soul. With the aim of better expressiveness he exaggerates the ugly features of human psychology, tries not to conceal anything telling the truth about а person.
