Лінгвальні особливості англомовного магічного інтернет-дискурсу

Abstract

Стаття присвячена висвітленню лінгвальних особливостей англомовного магічного дискурсу. Матеріалом дослідження слугували спеціалізовані вебсайти, представлені у мережі Інтернет. У роботі використано такі методи дослідження як описовий та контекстуально-інтерпретативний метод. У цьому дослідженні «магічний дискурс» розглянуто як різновид «окультного дискурсу». Останній позначає загальний напрям дискурсології, який вивчає особливості комунікації в різних містичних практиках, магії, астрології тощо, тобто всіх напрямів інституційної діяльності, які виходять за рамки науки та офіційної релігії. Магічний дискурс розглядається нами в межах Інтернет-дискурсу у цілому. Основні функції Інтернет-дискурсу, в яких полягає його прагматичний потенціал, можна звести до наступних: інформативна, комунікативна, репрезентативна, аттрактивна, персуазивна, сугестивна, маніпулятивна. Останнім часом відзначається стрімкий рух від виключно друкованих текстів до текстів, що включають відео-і аудіоелементи. У сучасному Інтернет просторі існують численні вебсторінки, присвячені різним теоретичним та прикладним аспектам магії. Цільовою аудиторією є як професіонали, які займаються магією, так і широкий загал читачів, які за допомогою «інструкції» можуть власними силами провести певний ритуал, накласти заклинання тощо. Вони поділені на тематичні блоки, наприклад, witchcraft, crystals, divination, tarot, які переважно мають маніпулятивний характер та побудовані за принципом типових текстів-інструктажів у мережі Інтернет із використанням лексичних одиниць із позитивною конотацією: best, peace, love, joy, great. Заклинання, представлені на сайті, побудовані на стилістичних прийомах асонансу та паралельних конструкцій, які створюють ритм висловлювання. Використання ритуальної застарілої фрази so mote it be надає заклинанню містичного забарвлення та створює необхідну атмосферу. Перспективу подальшого дослідження вбачаємо у дослідженні лексико-стилістичних особливостей різних жанрів англомовного магічного дискурсу.

The article is devoted to highlighting the linguistic features of the English magical discourse. The study is based on specialized websites presented on the Internet. The research methods such as descriptive and contextual-interpretative method are used in the work. In this study, "magical discourse" is considered as a kind of "occult discourse". The latter indicates the general direction of discourse, which studies the peculiarities of communication in various mystical practices, magic, astrology, etc., i.e. all areas of institutional activity that go beyond science and official religion. Magical discourse is considered within the Internet discourse as a whole. The main functions of Internet discourse, which define its pragmatic potential, can be reduced to the following: informative, communicative, representative, attractive, persuasive, suggestive, manipulative. Recently, there has been a rapid shift from exclusively printed texts to texts that include video and audio elements. In the modern Internet space, there are numerous web pages devoted to various theoretical and applied aspects of magic. The target audience is both professionals who practice magic and a wide range of readers who, with the help of "instructions", can perform a ritual on their own, cast spells, and so on. They are divided into thematic blocks, such as witchcraft, crystals, divination, tarot, which are mostly manipulative in nature and built on the principle of typical texts-instructions on the Internet using lexical units with positive connotations: best, peace, love, joy, great. The spells presented on the site are based on stylistic devices of assonance and parallel constructions that create the rhythm of expression. The usage of the obsolete ritual phrase so mote it be gives the spell a mystical color and creates the necessary atmosphere. We see the prospect of further research in the study of lexical and stylistic features of different genres of English magical discourse.
