Епістолярій митців діаспори як реалізація їх світоглядних та естетичних позицій

Abstract

У статті на основі розлогого фактичного матеріалу осмислено приватне листування письменників української діаспори. Аргументується думка про те, що майстри художнього слова не випадково зверталися до означеного жанру. Лист у них відзначається швидкою реакцією на факт, виражає миттєве ставлення його автора до події, а також останній не обмежений ні тематично, ні стилево. Доводиться, що кореспонденції майстрів слова – це не просто розповідь про побачене й пережите, а власне діалог, що засвідчує єднання душ, глибинне проникнення адресантів у суть саме тих процесів, які характеризують проблеми розвитку літератури та суспільства. Такі листи відзначаються не лише своїм приватним спрямуванням і цікаві тільки для безпосередніх учасників «діалогів на відстані». Останні слугують ареною історичної й літературної полеміки. Епістолярне контактування у письменників слугувало каталізатором їх національної самосвідомості. Обгрунтовується думка, що власне такий діалог ставав можливим лише за таких умов, коли кожен із його учасників із пошануванням ставився до іншого, убачаючи в ньому рівноправного партнера, а не потенційного супротивника. На конкретних прикладах проілюстровано, що, аби зрозуміти іншого, варто в першу чергу оцінити себе. Це стосується як окремої людини, так нації й народу в цілому. Особливу увагу звернено на глибинний пласт епістолярію митців: самоаналіз, розкриття потаємних механізмів особистої вдачі, зародження творчих задумів, перевтілення зовнішніх вражень – життєвих, мистецьких, характер реакції, інтенсивність спогадів. Саме в таких листах, як продемонстрували епістолярні тексти, віднаходимо багатий матеріал для розуміння цих невидимих, але дуже важливих процесів. Епістоли ідентифікують силу письменників в історичній пам’яті, гостроті сприйняття духу, сутності конфліктів, проблем, тенденцій дійсності мистецтва. У кожному листі адресант є і письменником, і трибуном, витоки його любові й ненависті – в особистісних колізіях із дійсністю; ними добирається в кореспонденції лише те, що є гідним суспільної об’єктивації. Відзначено, що листи письменників української діаспори засвідчують новий тип світосприйняття, світорозуміння. А нове мислення – це не тільки оцінка зовнішнього, об’єктивно існуючої дійсності – це ще й психологічний стан, спонтанний «вибух» настрою, переживань, оцінок і переоцінок, як дійсності, так і себе самого. Широта зацікавлень, постійна пильна увага до навколишнього світу поєднуються в листах із дивовижною свободою суджень і оцінок, високою літературною культурою, вишуканістю з максимальною простотою і природністю вираження. А, отже, це наслідок величезної довготривалої роботи душі.

The article, based on extensive factual material, comprehends the private correspondence of writers of the Ukrainian diaspora. It is argued that the masters of the artistic word did not accidentally turn to this genre. Their letter is marked by a quick reaction to the fact, expresses the instantaneous attitude of its author to the event, and the latter is not limited either thematically or stylistically. It turns out that the correspondence of the masters of the word is not just a story about what is seen and experienced, but actually a dialogue that testifies to the unity of souls, deep penetration of addressees into the essence of those processes that characterize the problems of literature and society. Such letters are marked not only by their private direction and are of interest only to the direct participants in "dialogues at a distance". The latter serve as an arena of historical and literary controversy. Epistolary contact in writers served as a catalyst for their national identity. The opinion is substantiated that such a dialogue became possible only under such conditions, when each of its participants treated the other with respect, seeing in him an equal partner and not a potential adversary. Specific examples illustrate that in order to understand another, one must first evaluate oneself. This applies both to the individual and to the nation and the nation as a whole. Particular attention is paid to the deep layer of the epistolary of artists: introspection, the disclosure of secret mechanisms of personal nature, the emergence of creative ideas, the embodiment of external impressions – life, art – the nature of the reaction, the intensity of memories. It is in such letters, as the epistolary texts have shown, that we find rich material for understanding these invisible but very important processes. Epistles identify the strength of writers in historical memory, the sharpness of perception of the spirit, the essence of conflicts, problems, trends in the reality of art. In each letter, the addressee is both a writer and a tribune, the origins of his love and hate – in personal conflicts with reality; they select in correspondence only that which is worthy of public objectification. It is noted that the letters of the writers of the Ukrainian diaspora testify to a new type of world perception, worldview. And new thinking is not only an assessment of external, objectively existing reality – it is also a psychological state, a spontaneous "explosion" of mood, experiences, evaluations and reassessments of both reality and oneself. The breadth of interests, constant close attention to the world around are combined in the letters with amazing freedom of judgment and evaluation, high literary culture, sophistication with maximum simplicity and natural expression. And, therefore, it is a consequence of a huge long-term work of the soul.
