Особливості функціонування термінологічної лексики у романі Дж.К. Роулінг «Гаррі Поттер та Смертельні Реліквії»

Abstract

Стаття присвячена вивченню особливостей функціонування термінологічної лексики у романі про Гаррі Поттера. Мова художньої літератури прагне до оновлення слова, видобування з лексичної семантики нових значеннєвих нюансів, відтінків. При цьому змінюються не тільки особливості слововживання, а й виявляється тенденція до зміни синонімічних та антонімічних відношень. У художніх текстах термін втрачає свої специфічні ознаки, набуваючи додаткових, а то й зовсім інших, смислових значень – він виступає елементом образної системи мови. У новому стильовому контексті термін, неемоційний за своєю природою, може розвивати емоційно-експресивні відтінки і конотації. У мові фантастики вживання термінів є досить розповсюдженим явищем. Сьогодні дедалі частіше навіть і в дитячих творах можна побачити вживання термінів. Термінологічна лексика, яка є ознакою переважно наукового стилю, глибоко проникає також і в художній, утрачаючи свої специфічні ознаки та набуваючи додаткових. Терміни можуть бути представлені не тільки іменниками, а й словами, вираженими іншими частинами мови, зокрема прикметниками. Термінологічні слова служать для яскравої передачі думки, для створення оригінального художнього образу. Частота вживання термінів залежить від жанру літератури. У художньому творі використовуються терміни, що дають загальне уявлення про факти громадської, виробничої, наукової та іншої діяльності, яка описується художником. Ці терміни не є результатом логічних доказів. Вони виступають в якості характеристики явища і служать засобом створення необхідного колориту. Серед термінів, які авторка Дж. К. Роулінг уживає в романі, трапляються загальновживані слова, що, крім своїх основних значень, набувають специфічних значень для певної галузі науки та магії; загальнотехнічні терміни, які використовуються в різних галузях науки й техніки, при цьому втручаючись у магічний світ Гаррі Поттера та спеціальні терміни, які вживаються лише в певній галузі науки чи магічних знань. Під час використання термінів у художніх текстах із ними часто відбувається процес детермінологізації, тобто терміни втрачають своє термінологічне значення, переходячи до розряду загальновживаної лексики. Найчастіше процес детермінологізації відбувається під час контекстуальної заміни, що зумовлено стилістичними особливостями художніх текстів. Терміни в романі Дж. К. Роулінг «Гаррі Поттер та Смертельні Реліквії» використовуються і як засоби мовної характеристики героїв. В цьому випадку наукові й технічні терміни виступають як умовні прийоми непрямого опису середовища, обстановки, інтересів персонажів твору. Визначальним є те, що читачеві для розуміння тексту навіть не обов’язково точно знати зміст цих термінів. Основною умовою стилістичного використання терміна є його повна співвіднесеність з одним термінологічним рядом. Терміни можуть вводитись у художній текст з поясненням чи без. The article is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of the functioning of terminology in the Harry Potter novel. The language of fiction aims at the word renewal, taking from lexical semantics new significant nuances, shades. At the same time, not only the peculiarities of word use change, but also a tendency to change synonymous and antonymic relationships is manifested. In fiction texts, the term loses its specific features, acquiring additional, or even completely different, semantic meanings – it acts as an element of the figurative speech system. In a new style context, the term, unemotional in nature, can develop emotionally expressive shades and connotations. In the language of fiction, the use of terms is quite common. Today, more and more often, even in children’s literature, you can see the use of terms. Terminological vocabulary, which is a feature of predominantly scientific style, also penetrates deeply into fiction, losing its specific features and gaining additional ones. Terms can be represented not only by nouns, but also by words expressed in other parts of speech, including adjectives. Terminological words are used to convey thoughts, to create an original fiction image. The frequency of use of terms depends on the genre of literature. The work of fiction uses terms that give a general idea of the facts of social, industrial, scientific and other activities described by the artist. These terms are not the result of logical evidence. They act as a characteristic of the phenomenon and serve as a means of creating the necessary color. Among the terms used by the author JK Rowling in the novel, there are commonly used words that, in addition to their basic meanings, acquire specific meanings for a particular field of science and magic; general technical terms used in various fields of science and technology, while interfering in the magical world of Harry Potter, and special terms used only in a particular field of science or magical knowledge. When using terms in literary texts, they often undergo a process of determinologization, that is the terms lose their terminological meaning, moving to the category of common vocabulary. Most often, the process of determinologization occurs during contextual substitution, due to the stylistic features of literary texts. Terms in JK Rowling’s novel "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" are also used as a means of linguistic characterization of the characters. In this case, scientific and technical terms act as conditional methods of indirect description of the environment, interests of the characters of the literary work. What is important is that the reader does not even need to know the meaning of these terms to understand the text. The main condition for the stylistic use of the term is its complete correlation with one terminological series. Terms can be entered into the fiction text with or without explanation. Sometimes references are used to interpret highly specialized words.
