Аналіз засобів перекладу презентних форм Continuous українською мовою

Abstract

Стаття присвячена детальному аналізу засобів перекладу форм дієслова Present Continuous українською мовою. Дослідження доводить, що цільова мова пропонує багатий та різноманітний інструментарій, який використовується носіями для передачі значення тривалості та часу дій. Вивчивши та проаналізувавши приклади художньої літератури, автори з’ясували, що в мові перекладу зазначений вище граматичний час виражається: теперішнім часом, минулим часом доконаного і недоконаного виду, майбутнім часом доконаного і недоконаного виду, а також іменниками, прислівниками, дієприслівниками та іншими граматичними і лексичними засобами. Особливу увагу у роботі приділено нюансам перекладацьких трансформацій, а також встановлено, що іноді лексичні засоби вираження переважають над морфологічними, що зумовлено аналітичною структурою будови сучасної англійської мови. Науковий доробок доводить, що тексти оригіналу та перекладу характеризуються функціональним перерозподілом сем, а саме тривалість і час передаються не одним, а кількома засобами. Переклад присудка з англійської мови на українську включає врахування таких ознак, як стан, вид, особа, часова характеристика дії, модальність, форми множини чи однини. Вдале органічне поєднання лексичних, морфологічних, граматичних компонентів мови та способи їх організації в єдине складне синтаксичне ціле, відповідно до законів мови перекладу та мови оригіналу, забезпечують можливість реалізації тотожної семантики. Широкий діапазон засобів перекладу Present Continuous українською мовою є, як показав аналіз, по-перше, результатом об’єктивних відмінностей функціонування презентних часів у цих двох мовах, по-друге, об’єктивною потребою вираження змісту всіма засобами української мови, по-третє, наслідком суб’єктивного тлумачення різних мовних ситуацій, а також творчим потенціалом, компетентністю та індивідуальністю перекладача.

The article is devoted to the detailed consideration of means of the Present Continuous tense verb form translation into the Ukrainian language. The study proves that the latter provides a great number of ways which can be chosen to convey meaning of duration and time. As a result of the analysis of the studied material, the authors have found that in the target language this grammar tense is expressed by the present tense, past tense of perfect and imperfect forms, future tense of perfect and imperfect forms as well as nouns, adverbs etc. Particular attention has been drawn to the nuances of translation transformations of the continuous constructions. On the basis of the analysed examples of the fiction discourse it has been established that sometimes lexical means prevail over the morphological ones that is caused the analytical structure of Modern English. It is denoted that texts of the original and translation are characterized by a functional redistribution of sems, namely, duration and time are conveyed not by one, but by several means. The paper highlights that translation of a predicate from English into Ukrainian includes the consideration of such features as state, form, person, temporal characteristic of action, modality, plural or singular forms. A successful organic combination of lexical, morphological, grammatical components of the language and methods of their organization into a single complex syntactic whole, in accordance with the laws of the target language and the original language, provide an opportunity for the implementation of identical semantics. A wide range of means of translation of Present Continuous into Ukrainian is, as the analysis showed, firstly, the result of objective differences in functioning of the present tenses in these two languages, secondly, the objective need to express the content using all means of the Ukrainian language, thirdly, a result of subjective interpretation of various language situations, as well as the creative potential, competence and individuality of a translator.
