| Abstract: | Functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGID) are a common pathology among young children. According to statistical data, they account for the largest percentage in the structure of the pathology of the digestive organs in young children [Shadrin, 2018]. Children with functional pathology make up about 30% of all hospitalized gastroenterological patients. Functional gastrointestinal disorders in early childhood worsen the child's health and quality of life, quite often have long-term negative consequences, such as formation of chronic organic pathology of the gastrointestinal tract, disorders of psycho-emotional status, pathology of the nervous system. The above-mentioned factors explain the need to study and develop effective treatment methods of functional gastrointestinal disorders. |
| Description: | Functional gastrointestinal disorders in infants The methodological guidance material, written by the group of authors of Pediatrics Department of the Uzhhorod National University, deals with the problem of functional digestive disorders in young children. Recent studies concerning etiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, diagnostic criteria and treatment of childhood functional digestive disorders are represented.
