Деякі аспекти словотворення медичних термінів в англійській мові

Abstract

Мова медицини – це складна терміносистема, яка ґрунтується на взаємозв’язках різних мов, процесах мислення та реаліях довкілля. Медичну термінологію, як і мову в цілому, слід сприймати в діалектичному ключі у своїй цілісності та перманентному розвитку. Словотворення медичних термінів є складним процесом взаємозв’язків та специфіки міжмовних стосунків. У дослідженні словотворення медичних термінів в англійській мові можливо використовувати різноманітні методи: класифікація і систематизація (під час групування синонімів, онімів, неологізмів, паронімів тощо); опис на базі статики, генетики, етимології, словотвору, порівняння тощо; порівняння (під час зіставлення термінологічних одиниць); кількісний підрахунок (під час визначення типів медичних термінів) та соціальна типізація (під час вивчення мовних явищ у соціології та історії). Серед безлічі лінгвістичних феноменів, присутніх у медичній термінології, цікавим видається ономастика, а саме епоніми та їхній синонімічний ряд в комбінації з онімами в медичній термінології англійської мови. Серед шляхів передачі ономастичних одиниць за допомогою різноманітних прийомів в медичній термінології англійської мови: транслітерація, типологічні відповідники, транспозиція власних назв у прикметники, які сприяють збереженню семантичного забарвлення ініціального терміну у перекладі та певною мірою передають значення та інформацію даних лексичних одиниць (семантичне калькування, комбінована реномінація, перифрастичний переклад). Ці засоби забезпечують адекватність сприйняття медичної термінології. В даній роботі, серед чисельних мовних явищ термінотворення, було обрано поняття синонімії. Йдеться про медичні епоніми, які містять оніми. Для їх аналізу використано текстологічний та стилістичний аналіз, класифікацію, структурний, етимологічний та словотворчий аналіз. Типологія утворення англійської медичної термінології уможливила укладання комплексної схеми та характеристики медичних онімів. Вважаємо думку щодо викоренення синонімії з термінології хибною, оскільки синоніми сприяють міжкультурному обміну та необхідні для вибору кращої деномінації терміну.

The language of medicine is a complex terminological system based on the different languages’ interrelationships, thought processes and environmental realities. Medical terminology, like language in general, should be perceived in a dialectical way in its integrity and permanent development. Word formation in medical terminology is a complex process of interrelationships and specifics of interlanguage relations. In the study of the word formation of medical terms in the English language, it is possible to use various methods: classification and systematization (when grouping synonyms, onyms, neologisms, paronyms, etc.), description based on statics, genetics, etymology, word formation, comparison, etc., comparison (when comparing terminological units), quantitative counting (when determining the types of medical terms) and social typification (when studying linguistic phenomena in sociology and history). Among the many linguistic phenomena present in medical terminology, onomastics seems interesting, namely eponyms and their synonymous series in combination with onyms present in medical terminology of the English language. Among the examples of the transfer of onomastic realities using various techniques in English language medical terminology: transliteration, traditional equivalents, transposition of the proper name into an adjective, which contribute to the preservation of the national color of the original work in translation and to some extent convey the denotative information of these lexical units (semantic tracing, combined renaming, periphrastic translation). These tools ensure the adequacy of perception of medical terminology. In this work, among the numerous linguistic phenomena of term formation, the concept of synonymy was chosen in terms of eponyms that contain onyms, textological and stylistic analysis, classification, structural, etymological and word-formation analysis were used. The typology of the formation of English medical terminology made it possible to draw up a complex scheme and characteristics of medical names. We believe that the idea of eradicating synonymy from terminology is wrong, since synonyms contribute to intercultural exchange and are necessary for choosing the best denomination of the term.
