Відтворення мовної особистості президента України Володимира Зеленського у військово-політичному дискурсі

Abstract

Стаття присвячена дослідженню мовної особистості Президента України Володимира Зеленського за класифікацією Ю.Н. Караулова, який виокремлює три структурні рівні мовної особистості: структурно-мовний, лінгвокогнітивний та мотиваційний. В статті вперше проаналізовано специфіку відтворення мовної особистості у військово-політичному дискурсі з української мови на англійську. Матеріалом дослідження є промови та звернення Володимира Зеленського, які розміщенні на офіційному сайті Президента України. В ході проведення дослідження ми дійшли висновку, що структурно-мовний рівень мовної особистості Президента України характеризується домінуванням стилістично нейтральних мовних одиниць із дотриманням офіційно-ділового стилю мовлення у прямому значенні з метою запобіганння двозначності, широким вживанням ділової та військової термінології; а також порушенням шаблонної синтаксичної структури речення офіційно-ділового стилю, що ми обгрунтовуємо бажанням перекладача відтворити у перекладі англійською вольовий, рішучий, безкомпромісний характер Президента України як Президента-дії. На когнітивному рівні мовної особистості Володимира Зеленського проаналізовано відтворення у перекладі англійською концептів «захисника України», «країни-терориста», «партнерів» та «українського народу». На прагматичному рівні досліджено специфіку відтворення у перекладі найбільш значущих настанов Президента України до українського народу: настанову на відбудову України у післявоєнний період; настанову на покаранння країни-терориста після закінчення війни; настанову на згуртованість українського народу для протидії Росії; настанову на перемогу України у війні проти Росії. В ході проведення дослідження ми проаналізували 194 речення українською мовою, відібраних з промов та звернень Президента України, та їх переклад англійською мовою за перекладацькими трансформаціями Л. С. Бархударова та дійшли висновку, що дослівний переклад становить 38%, а трасформаційний – 62%. Серед трансформаційного перекладу найчастіше зустрічаюься трансформації заміни, перестановки та додавання.

The article sets out to provide a description of the linguistic personality of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy according to the classification of Y.N. Karaulov, who distinguished three levels of the linguistic personality, which are structural linguistic, lingo cognitive and motivation levels. For the first time the specific features of rendering of the linguistic personality in the military-political discourse from Ukrainian into English are presented. The material of the research are the speeches of Volodymyr Zelenskyy, which are published on the official site of the President of Ukraine. Having provided the research, we came to the conclusion that structural linguistic level of the linguistic personality of the President of Ukraine is characterized by the dominance of the stylistically neutral language units according to the norms of the official and business style, also by the wide usage of the military and business terminology. But we found some deviations from the norms of syntactical structure of the sentences of the official and business style which is explained by the desire of the translator to render the strong-willed uncompromising character of the President of Ukraine as the President of action. Lingo cognitive level of the linguistic personality of Volodymyr Zelenskyy includes investigation of the ways of rendering of the concepts of “defenders of Ukraine”, “terrorist state”, “Ukrainian people” and “partners”. Motivation level of the linguistic personality of Volodymyr Zelenskyy includes guidelines for Ukrainian people concerning the victory in the war; necessity of being united against the terrorist state; punishment and sanction of the terrorist state; and reconstruction of Ukraine after the war. We analyzed 194 sentences, taken from the speeches of the President of Ukraine, and their official translation from Ukrainian into English, according to the classification of translation transformations by L.S. Barhudarov. According to the results of the translation analysis we came to the conclusion that literal translation is used in 38% of sentences and transformational translation is used in 62% of sentences. Among transformations substitution, addition and permutation are frequently used.
