Феномен гібридної ідентичності митця у збірці «Котилася торба» Василя Махна

Abstract

Статтю присвячено осмисленню явища гібридної ідентичності письменника-космополіта Василя Махна на матеріалі збірки «Котилася торба», чий творчий доробок є складником українського та американського літературного процесу. Проблема про питання ідентичності стає дедалі актуальнішою, однак складною та малодослідженою у площині сучасного літературознавства, тому реалізується в прагненні оповідача відшукати власне місце у світовій системі координат та репрезентувати свою позицію у художньому світі літературного твору. У статті проаналізовано процес усвідомлення власної ідентичності через призму топологічного повороту у літературі, що обґрунтовано у працях Я. Поліщука, С. Євтушенко, Е. Левінаса, Д. Дюришина, В. Будного та М. Ільницького. З погляду хронотопу, геопоетики та топографії оповідач у художньому світі твору реконструює образи топосів Чорткова та Нью-Йорка, у яких формує власний простір для пошуків ідентичності та рефлексії, що трансформує його сприйняття об’єктивної реальності та дозволяє читачеві декодувати інтенції автора. Також проаналізовано здатність реконструйованого оповідачем простору до акумуляції пам’яті та досвіду у ньому, що дозволяє топосам ставати певним обсягом знань, а місцям у них – інструментом для процесу пізнання, що наповнюються завдяки спогадам, спостереженням, описам, екскурсам у історію у хронологічний послідовності, монологам. Відтак проаналізовані топоси у статті надають можливість оповідачу змінювати свою ідентичність залежно від того, який досвід та пам’ять вкладено у місце. У проаналізованій збірці митець порушує питання власної ідентичності, замислюючись над двоїстістю своєї природи, постаючи перед реципієнтом у різних іпостасях, що наголошує на зв’язку митця з різними містами та місцями, котрі уособлюють ностальгію та рефлексію оповідача, дозволяючи йому ідентифікувати себе по-різному та виявляти гібридність своєї ідентичності.

The article is devoted to the understanding of the phenomenon of the hybrid identity of the cosmopolitan writer Vasyl Makhnо based on the material of the collection "Horn of Plenty", whose creative work is a component of the Ukrainian and American literary process. The problem of the issue of identity is becoming more and more urgent, but complex and understudied in the field of modern literary studies, therefore it is realized in the narrator’s desire to find his own place in the world coordinate system and represent his position in the artistic world of a literary work. The article analyzes the process of realizing one’s own identity through the prism of the topological turn in literature, which is substantiated in the works of Ya. Polishchuk, S. Yevtushenko, E. Levinas, D. Dyuryshin, V. Budny, and M. Ilnytskyi. From the point of view of chronotope, geopoetics and topography, the narrator in the artistic world of the work reconstructs the images of the Chortkov and New York topos, in which he forms his own space for the search for identity and reflection, which transforms his perception of objective reality and allows the reader to decode the author’s intentions. The ability of the space reconstructed by the narrator to accumulate memory and experience in it is also analyzed, which allows topos to become a certain amount of knowledge, and places in them to become a tool for the process of cognition, which are filled due to memories, observations, descriptions, excursions into history in a chronological sequence, monologues. Therefore, the topos analyzed in the article enables the narrator to change his identity depending on the experience and memory invested in the place. In the analyzed collection, the artist raises the question of his own identity, thinking about the duality of his nature, appearing before the recipient in different guises, that emphasizes the connection of the artist with different cities and places, which embody the nostalgia and reflection of the narrator, allowing him to identify himself in different ways and reveal the hybridity of their identity.
